Seeing the damage from the wildfires sweeping across BC is devastating and heartbreaking.
This is a time when we can collectively support the people, places and animals impacted by the destruction. We need to be there for our community and fellow Canadians.
Here are 5 organizations that you can donate to or volunteer with to help:
1. Canadian Red Cross: 2026 BC Wildfires Appeal
The Canadian Red Cross is providing those impacted by the wildfires in British Columbia immediate and ongoing relief, recovery, and resilience efforts.
They are also committed to community preparedness and risk reduction for future all-hazard disaster events within British Columbia.
Donations and funds are also to support response teams and community partners in their efforts to mobilize as effectively and efficiently as possible.

2. United Way for BC Wildfire Recovery Fund
Donations to United Way BC provide relief, recovery, and long-term resilience efforts to those affected.
- Funding also helps provide:
- Food and water
- Hygiene kits
- Emergency supplies
- Gift cards
- Mental health supports
- Temporary accommodations
- Outreach services
- Additional community resources
3. BC SPCA
The BC SPCA helps keep evacuated pets with their owners wherever possible.
This is achieved by providing pet food and key supplies through BC SPCA animal centres and ESS centres.
These supplies can include crates, leashes, litter boxes or other items that evacuees can use to follow pet policies in hotels and temporary resources.
For situations where it is not possible for evacuated pets to stay with their families, the BC SPCA also provides emergency boarding services for evacuees at no cost, either through a local BC SPCA animal centre or in a home with one of our volunteer foster families.

4. The Salvation Army’s Wildfire Emergency Relief
The Salvation Army is on the ground across the affected areas of BC, helping feed evacuees and firefighters.
They provide critical materials, like clothing, blankets and water, to those in need. Their teams are also helping provide shelter and relief in reception centres.

5. BC Interior Community Foundation: Natural Disaster Relief Fund
The BCICF Natural Disaster Relief Fund was created to bolster charities and non-profit organizations in the Thompson, Nicola, and South Cariboo regions in BC.
The fund provides critical financial resources to disaster-related recovery needs that may not be covered by the government or insurance programs.
Funding and donations also support the replacement of tools and equipment for project-based activities that help organizations rebuild after devastation.
